Facilitator For Investment Readiness Programme [For Investors]

Project Overview (Scope of Work)

BEDB is seeking Proposals from suitably qualified Proposers for this project. In developing the Proposal, the Proposer should consider the objectives and key requirements prescribed below in the provision of, ‘Facilitator for Investment Readiness Programme [For Investors]’:

 

1.1 Programme Objectives

  • Equip participants with the fundamentals of angel investing, including financial assessment and risk management.

  • Provide tools for making informed investment decisions and managing portfolios.

  • Enhance understanding of due diligence, legal considerations, and syndication.

  • Improve participants' ability to mentor and support startup growth through milestones.

  • Promote ethical investing and corporate governance.

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing among aspiring and experienced investors.

 

1.2 Target Audience

The participants of this program include:

  • Seasoned business professionals interested in angel investing.

  • Individuals who have attended prior BEDB-hosted events, such as dialogue sessions on the importance of angel investing.

  • Those with the means and resources to support startups but may or may not have prior experience in angel investing.

  • Individuals who are looking to develop their skills in evaluating investment opportunities.

 

1.3 Programme Structure and Delivery

  • Design a comprehensive 0.5-day programme covering key topics aligned with the objectives.

  • Develop engaging learning materials (presentations, case studies, due diligence checklist).

  • Emphasise practical learning through the facilitator’s experience and real-world case study analysis, encouraging active participation in their due diligence and investment evaluation.

  • Conclude with a synthesis of key learnings and a roadmap for applying skills in angel investing.

  • Proposals should outline a delivery model that engages participants through physical workshops, aimed at maximising engagement and learning outcomes.

  • Provide post-workshop materials, such as slides or notes, for participants' reference.

  • Expected number of participants is 20 pax.

  • The workshop will be conducted in the evening.

 

1.4 Post-Programme (Value Added Support)

As part of the programme, BEDB would like to request for the Proposer to share the insights gained through the delivery of the programme in a report format.

 

This includes:

  • Highlights of successful strategies

  • Challenges encountered

  • Other lessons learned

 

The insights can be gathered through surveys and feedback sessions with the participants. By sharing this insight the Proposer can support BEDB with the continuous improvement of the initiative.


Submission Format

Proposals must be clearly labelled as, ‘Facilitator for Investment Readiness Programme [For Investors]' and addressed to:

Proposals must be submitted to the above-mentioned address no later than 3.00 PM Brunei time (GMT+8) on 18th December 2024.

 

Proposers are instructed to provide their RFP in the following formats:

 

Electronic submissions shall be submitted in two separate files or folders; one marked “technical submission” and one marked “commercial submission”, via e-mail to rfp@bedb.gov.bn.

 

All electronic submissions must be password-protected upon submission to RFP Secretariat, in which RFP Secretary will only request the password from Proposers at the close of submission deadline.

 

Proposals without password protection will be disqualified. A step-by-step guide on how to protect PDF files via https://smallpdf.com/protect-pdf is available on Appendix B).

 

Upon submission, RFP Secretariat will confirm receipt of the proposal. Please also take note our email can only receive attachments up to a maximum of 10MB.

 

Proposals lodged after the deadline will not be considered unless BEDB otherwise determines at its absolute discretion and without any obligation to do so that it is appropriate for a later Proposal to be considered.

 

BEDB will assign a reference number for any RFP issued. This reference number should be quoted in any correspondence and during Proposal submission.

Proposer requiring any clarification of the RFP may e-mail their questions to rfp@bedb.gov.bn with subject heading, “[RFP 24 10 00. Facilitator for Investment Readiness Programme [For Investors]]”. Copies of the BEDB response will be forwarded to all Proposers.
